(Based on University of Minnesota and the Portable Sanitation Association research)

  • A portable toilet generally has a capacity to service 400 uses.

  • Most people use the washroom every 2 – 3 hours.

  • If you have 2000 people, using the unit 4 times a day, the math says 20 units. However, you may have a line-up problem at peak times (before or after a concert, or after a meal).

  • Men take approximately 2 minutes in the washroom, Women take twice as long. So, if you have the units gender labeled, take this into consideration (designate every 2 out of 3 as ladies’).

  • Have the sinks placed outside of the units if possible to alleviate line-ups.

  • Provide garbage receptacles so that all those water and beer bottles don’t end up in the toilet.

Frequently asked questions about event portable restroom rentals

Planning an event involves a lot of details, and ensuring your guests have access to clean, reliable restrooms is essential. At Chantler’s Environmental Services, we’re here to make the process simple and stress-free. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about our portable restroom rentals for weddings, festivals, and special occasions. From determining the right number of units to delivery and setup, we’ve got you covered.

  • How Many Restrooms Do I Need for My Event?

A good rule of thumb is to have one portable restroom for every 50-75 guests for a 4-6 hour event where a meal is served. However, factors like alcohol consumption and the ratio of male to female attendees can impact the number of units needed. For larger gatherings, such as fairs or festivals with peak attendance of 3,000 or more, we recommend a customized plan to ensure adequate facilities without overestimating. If you’re planning a wedding, festival, or outdoor event, contact us, and our team of experts will help you determine the right number of portable toilets.

  • Are These the Same Toilets You See on Construction Sites?

Not at all! We offer a wide range of portable restrooms specifically designed for events, including luxury units with vanity mirrors, lighting, running hot water, and room for decorations like flowers or potpourri. While we also have standard portable restrooms similar to those used on construction sites, our event rental toilets are reserved exclusively for special events to ensure pristine conditions.

  • Should We Have Separate Restrooms for Concession and Event Staff?

Yes, having separate facilities for staff is highly recommended. It minimizes wait times for your staff and concession workers, allowing them to focus on serving your guests without unnecessary delays.

  • Do I Need to Supply Toilet Paper and Paper Towels?

No, all our event portable restrooms come fully stocked with essential supplies like toilet paper and paper towels.

  • Do Flushable Restrooms with Sinks Require a Water Line?

No, our flushable portable restrooms are completely self-contained and come delivered with water ready to use.

  • Do Portable Toilets Need to Be Placed on Level Ground?

Yes, all portable restrooms must be placed on level ground to ensure proper setup and functionality.

  • Do Basic Restrooms or Flushable Units Come with Lights?

Standard portable restrooms do not include lighting, but we can provide battery-operated lights for an additional cost to enhance convenience during evening events.

  • Can I Decorate the Portable Toilets or Restroom Trailers?

Yes! Our luxury restroom units offer space for decorations like flowers or potpourri, allowing you to customize them to suit the theme of your event.

  • What Kind of Trucks Deliver the Portable Toilets?

We deliver portable restrooms using a truck or trailer and use dollies to position the units exactly where you need them.

  • Do I Need Someone On-Site During Delivery?

It’s ideal to have someone available to indicate the best placement for the portable restrooms and to receive instructions for proper usage.

  • When Are Portable Toilets Delivered and Picked Up?

We work around your event schedule to provide flexible delivery and pickup times. Contact us to discuss the details, and we’ll ensure a smooth and timely process.

  • How Far Do You Deliver?

We provide portable restroom rentals across Ontario. Delivery costs vary by location, so give us a call to discuss your event’s specific needs.

  • Can Portable Toilets Be Placed Close to Tents or Dining Areas?

Yes, our portable restrooms are sealed units, which means odour is not a concern. They can be placed near tents or other areas without issue.
